President invited a meeting on the issues related to the efficient management of Ararat valley water resources

President Serzh Sargsyan invited today a meeting on the issues related to the efficient management of Ararat valley water resources. The meeting was attended by the RA Prime Minister Tigran Sarkissian, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorkiank, Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepian, Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunian, Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetian, Head of Ararat marz administration Edik Barseghian, Chairman of the Public Council’s commission on agriculture and environment, Director of Hayjurnakhagits Ltd Yuri Javadian, Chairman of the Presidential Commission on the Sevan Lake related issues Vladimir Movsissian, responsible officials from the Presidential Administration, relevant Ministries and agencies.

Discussed were works aimed at the stable irrigation of the Ararat valley, opportunities for the creation of closed and semi-closed fishery systems, installation of the automated systems for the operation of low-level wells as well as stock-taking and closing down of the illegal low-level wells. With this regard a number of directives were issued.
