President Serzh Sragsyan received a delegation of the EBRD headed by the President of EBRD Suma Chakrabarti

President Serzh Sragsyan received today a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) headed by the President of EBRD Suma Chakrabarti.

The President hailed the over twenty-year long cooperation of the EBRD with Armenia. According to the President, in that period of time, the Bank has done a considerable work in a number of areas. Serzh Sargsyan expressed hope that the Bank will continue its assistance to Armenia in developing the private and financial sectors, as well as in strengthening institutional capacities.
The parties discussed the forthcoming programs of cooperation with the EBRD, Armenia’s priorities, potential for economic development, the existing challenges and means to overcome them.

Speaking about the Bank’s long-term cooperation with our country and ensuing large-scale investments, the President of the EBRD Suma Chakrabarti spoke with satisfaction about the loan agreement signed today with the government of Armenia, which, according to Sir Suma Chakrabarti, is yet another good example of cooperation and is aimed at the improvement of the water supply infrastructure in Yerevan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of the EBRD reiterated the Bank’s readiness to continue to promote cooperation in the priority areas of the Armenian economy, to enhance the economic growth and increase of the capabilities of the private sector, and the resolution of other critical issues.
