President Serzh Sargsyan received the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara
President Serzh Sargsyan received today the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara.
The President welcomed the guest and congratulated him on Ukraine’s 2013 OSCE Chairmanship. Serzh Sargsyan expressed confidence and the government of Ukraine and Leonid Kozhara personally will carry out that responsible mission with success. The President of Armenia underscored that Armenia highly values the visit by the OSCE Chairman-in-Office and his delegation which testifies to the attention of the OSCE Presidency toward the problems of the South Caucasus region. President Sargsyan noted that Armenia attaches utmost importance to the cooperation in the framework of the OSCE. According to the President, the Organization continues to play a significant role in Eurasia area and, particularly, in upholding security and stability in the South Caucasus. Serzh Sargsyan hailed also the OSCE contribution to the development of human rights and democracy. The President of Armenia expressed hope that the visit of the delegation headed by Leonid Kozhara will support the efforts aimed at the preservation of security in the region as well as will further the cooperation between Armenia and OSCE institutions.
At the meeting, the parties fully supported the mission of the OSCE Minsk Group in the resolution of the NK conflict and steps taken by the MG toward the possible implementation of the measures aimed at the easing of the existing tension. Discussed were also issues pertinent to the latest developments in the NK peace process. The parties spoke also about the issues related to the implementation of the current international agreements on armaments in the framework of OSCE.
