The newly appointed Ambassador of Iraq presented his credential to President Serzh Sargsyan
Today, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Armenia Ghazi Taher Khaled presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.
The President congratulated the Ambassador on his appointed and expressed hope that reopening of the Embassy of Iraq in Armenia and diplomatic mission of Ambassador Khaled will allow to considerably promote the traditionally good-neighborly Armenian-Iraqi relations.
Noting that thousands of Armenian who today live in Iraq, may become a natural bridge for establishing closer bilateral relations between Armenia and Iraq, Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance of developing concurrently with the political dialogue also economic relations, strengthening of cultural ties and active interaction in the framework of international organizations.
The parties exchanged views on the instability present in recent years in the Middle East and on the current regional developments.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Ambassador Ghazi Taher Khaled assured that he would do his best to further strengthen and deepen the Armenian-Iraqi friendly relations.
