President Serzh Sargsyan hosted a reception in honor of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko
Today, the President of Belarus, who is conducting an official visit to Armenia, visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial and paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
In the evening, President Serzh Sargsyan hosted a reception in honor of the President of Belarus and his delegation.
At the official dinner, Serzh Sargsyan welcome guests in our country and in his toast underlined warm and historically formed Armenian-Belarus relations which according to the President, have found their manifestation in lending each other hand at the most difficult moments, readiness to provide unconditional support and caring attitude. In President Sargsyan’s words, such attitude is hardly to be overestimated since it signifies friendship itself. In the development of the Armenian-Belarus relations, the President of Armenia highlighted the role of the two communities living and working in Armenia and Belarus. “The glorious history of relations between our peoples can be talked about at length and colorfully, however I am confident that the citizens of Armenia will speak of it with the same warmth decades, hundred years later as well, since I am have no doubt that our relations will continue to strengthen. I am confident that our friendship will be lasting.
I believe we have every reason to be content with the results of today’s negotiations because they proved once again our mutual desire to strengthen our relations. Today, we have reiterated that we are open for each other and are ready to provide assistance within the limits of our abilities if one of us needs it,” President Sargsyan said and proposed to raise glasses for the President of Belarus and the members of his delegation, for the strengthening of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, for peace and prosperity of the Armenian and Belarus peoples.
The President of Belarus expressed gratitude to Serzh Sargsyan for the invitation, warm reception and friendly atmosphere which, according to Alexander Lukashenko, enveloped his delegation during the visit to the ancient, amazing and hospital Armenian land. He noted that Belarus has always had warm feelings for Armenia which is renowned for its millennia long history and rich cultural traditions. President Lukashenko noted with satisfaction that agreements reached during his official visit inspire optimism and reveal the readiness of the sides to further strengthen relations. “There is no doubt in my mind that through our joint efforts we will reach considerable results in the expansion of the areas of our cooperation, in closer cooperation in the economic area and increased turnover,” President of Belarus said and wished the President of Armenia and the entire Armenian nation peace, happiness and prosperity.
