President Serzh Sargsyan continues to receive congratulations on his re-election
The President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy sent a letter of congratulations to President Serzh Sargsyan on his re-election.
“Dear President,
As President of the European Council, I should like to convey my congratulations to you on your reelection as President of the Republic of Armenia.
I welcome the reforms undertaken in your country in recent years and continued efforts along this path will bring your country closer to the European Union, allowing us to achieve our shared objectives of political association and economic integration in the Eastern Partnership Framework.
I also welcome further progress in your efforts to improve the conduct of elections in line with international standards, including addressing outstanding issued identified by the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission.
I am aware of the challenging regional context of your country. The European Union has been contributing actively to conflict resolution efforts in the Southern Caucasus, and we will continue to do so. I should to once again encourage you, as I encourage other leaders, to take bold steps on this path, even if they are at times difficult.
I assure you of my commitment to deepening further our relations,” the President of the European Council said in his letter.
Serzh Sargsyan has received also congratulatory messages and well wishes from the President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff, President of Moldava Nikolay Timofti.
President Serzh Sargsyan continues to receive numerous congratulations from the Armenian and foreign officials, representatives of the creative unions and international organizations and individuals.
