President Serzh Sargsyan received the famous French actor Alain Delon
President Serzh Sargsyan received today one of the world cinema legends, famous French actor Alain Delon who will attend today in Yerevan the première of the “Happy New Year, Mothers” movie where he plays a part.
The President of Armenia welcomed the actor in our country and noted with satisfaction that in Armenia the movies with the participation of Alain Delon are widely known and are very popular, while the centuries-long cordial Armenian-French relations, which have great potential, continue to develop upward.
The great French actor thanked the President of Armenia for the warm welcome and affable words and underscored that France has always been attentive and respectful towards Armenia, her culture and history and has a clear-cut position on the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. He also noted that he was following closely the meeting between the President of France François Hollande and President Serzh Sargsyan, which took place over a month ago in Paris, and one year ago also Nicolas Sarkozy’s state visit to France.
The President of Armenia inquired about the “Happy New Year, Mothers” movie to be presented in Yerevan, noting that Armenians, just like other Mediterranean nations, have a special attitude towards mothers and if the Armenian director and producer of the movie along with the entire artistic group have dedicated this movie to mothers, then his confident that it must be about the eternity of values and that theme is current for all peoples and all generations.
Alain Delon noted that even though his part in this lyrical comedy is a small one, he has played his part with great pleasure and is happy to make this visit to Armenia where he’s been sincerely surprised by the fact that he is so well-known and appreciated.
The renowned actor has accepted the invitation of President Serzh Sargsyan to visit our country again and to learn more about Armenia since he has heard a lot about our country from his friends.
