Based on the results of the meeting with the leadership of the law enforcement bodies President Serzh Sargsyan gave a number of instructions

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan gave a number of instructions based on the results of the October 29 meeting with the leadership of the law enforcement bodies related to the pretrial investigation issues.

In particular, the RA Government was instructed to conduct a thorough examination of the material and technical conditions, social security of the employees of the law enforcement bodies and in the two-month period to develop proposals aimed at their improvement and present them to the Presidential Administration.

The Minister of Justice was assigned to revise the draft of the Code of RA Criminal Court Proceedings, taking into consideration practical problems that were brought forward by the concrete cases discussed during the meeting, as well as legal positions reflected in the recently made decisions of the European Human Rights Court.

The RA Prosecutor General, the Head of Police and the RA Head of Special Investigation Service were assigned to present in one month written proposals related to the organization of the pretrial process and related areas, particularly, forensic medical examination and comprehensive solutions of the issues related to the operative-investigation activities.

The RA Prosecutor General, the Head of Police and the RA Head of Special Investigation Service were also instructed to take necessary measures to provide for proper implementation of the judicial authorities of the prosecutors, investigators and heads of investigation units, excluding any occurrences of the their formal implementation.

The RA Head of Police was instructed to calculate and in one month to present a proposal for the material and technical base to support the investigators’ activities.
