President Serzh Sargsyan received the RF Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the RF Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov who is in Armenia on official visit.

Together with the President of Armenia, the RF Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov attended today the joint military exercises of the CSTO Interaction-2012 rapid response united forces.

The President of Armenia and the RF Minister of Defense discussed issues related to the Armenian-Russian military and technical cooperation, preservation of the regional security and existing challenges, international situation as well as issues related to today’s military exercises. The parties express satisfaction with the level of cooperation in the military and technical area. According to the President of Armenia, the visit by the RF Minister of Defense particularly in the year of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia and 15th anniversary of the Agreement of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance once again testifies to the consistent strengthening of the allied relations between our two countries.

Taking the opportunity, Minister Serdyukov on the eve of the 21st anniversary of Armenia’s independence congratulated the President of Armenia and all citizens of Armenia, wished peace and prosperity.

President Sargsyan spoke with satisfaction about today’s joint military exercises which, according to him, testify to the close cooperation in the military area.
