Serzh Sargsyan received the Chairman of the Federal Assembly of the State Duma of the RF Sergei Naryshkin and his delegation

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Chairman of the Federal Assembly of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergei Naryshkin and his delegation.

The President expressed hope that the visit of the Chairman of the Federal Assembly of the State Duma of the Russian Federation would give a new impetus to the steadily developing Armenian-Russian strategic partnership. Serzh Sargsyan praised the personal contribution of Mr. Naryshkin to the strengthening friendly relations between the two countries. He also underscored that Armenia was interested in the further deepening of its relations with Russia which have solid historical grounds and which develop in the spirit of allied partnership. According to Serzh Sargsyan, these unshakable relations are a cornerstone of Armenia’s security.

In his turn, Chairman of the Federal Assembly of the State Duma of the Russian Federation also expressed satisfaction with the high level of the strategic partnership of the two countries and stressed that Russia highly values development of relations and cooperation with Armenia, which according to Sergei Naryshkin, have become even more dynamic in the last ten years. S. Naryshkin highlighted the importance of interparliamentary diplomacy in the strengthening the relations between Armenia and Russia and assured that together with the colleagues from the Armenian parliament they would do their best to ensure further deepening of the relations between the two friendly peoples and states.
