The newly appointed Ambassador of Germany to Armenia Reiner Morell presented his credential to Serzh Sargsyan

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to the Republic of Armenia Reiner Morell presented his credential to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President of Armenia congratulated the Ambassador on the commencement of his diplomatic mission in our country and wished him success. President Sargsyan praised progress registered in the relations between Armenia and Germany in recent years and underscored that the Armenian side was interested in preserving the dynamics and deepening them further.

Ambassador Morell noted that the Armenian-German ties have a great potential for development and as Ambassador he would do his best to fully utilize that potential to further strengthen bilateral relations. According to the German Ambassador, with Armenia, which has rich culture and history, Germany can cooperation also in the humanitarian area. The interlocutors spoke about the Armenia-EU cooperation, development of interaction in the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership program, continuous development of the bilateral economic and trade relations, considering the fact that Germany is Armenia’s leading trading partner among the EU states.

President Serzh Sargsyan and Ambassador Reinar Morell exchanged also views on the regional issues.
