There took place a session of the Board of Trustees of the All-Armenian Hayastan Fund
Today, at the RA Government Reception House there took place a session of the Board of Trustees of the All-Armenian Hayastan Fund which was presided over by the Chairman of the Board, RA President Serzh Sargsyan.
Before referring to the agenda items, Serzh Sargsyan congratulated the participants of the session on the 20th anniversary of the Fund. “We have accomplished a lot together. It’s impossible even to enumerate all the programs implemented during these twenty years. They are plenty and diverse, and we just have to put on record that it is inconceivable now to imagine Armenia and Artsakh without the Hayastan Fund. This is a jubilee which inspires us with joy and pride; on the other hand, it’s a reason to work with added enthusiasm and new energy,” President Sargsyan said.
Serzh Sargsyan informed that by the decision of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the members of the Board, heads of the local bodies and several employees of the Executive Department were awarded the memorable medals of the Fund for their considerable contribution to the development of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh and on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.
The participants of the session discussed and approved the membership of Jerry Manoukian, Chairman of the Armenian Medical International Committee to the Board of Trustees of the All-Armenian Hayastan Fund. Ara Vardanian was reelected to the position of the Executive Director of the Fund.
The attendees viewed the video film on the works conducted through the financing of the Hayastan Fund in 2011. Afterwards, the Executive Director of the Fund presented the report on the activities of the Executive Department. The Board took note of the report of the Executive Department which was adopted by the participants of the session. At the session adopted was also the issue of the objectives of the Marathon-2012 of the All-Armenian Hayastan Fund, which was presented by the President of Nagorno Karabakh Bako Sahakian.
Members of the Board of Trustees, under the leadership of President Serzh Sargsyan, discussed the issue of establishing the Komitas Museum next to the Komitas Pantheon. According to the President, it shouldn’t be just a museum but rather an active cultural center where cultural events will be held regularly, and where our people and guests of our country will have the opportunity to familiarize with Komitas’s entire heritage.
