President received French Senators Phillip Marini, Sophie Joissains and Bernard Fournier
President Serzh Sargsyan received today French Senators Phillip Marini, Sophie Joissains and Bernard Fournier.
The parties spoke about the Armenian-French relations which after Armenia’s independence have been developing dynamically. According to them, these extraordinary relations are the best evidence of the centuries-long friendship of the Armenian and French peoples. The parties also noted that the French-Armenian community plays a significant role in the strengthening of the bilateral relations.
The President of Armenia welcomed and highly praised the visit of the French Senators to Artsakh. He expressed confidence that unbiased and comprehensive understanding of the issue is a key prerequisite for the resolution of the NK conflict.
Serzh Sargsyan underscored that numerous visits on the parliamentary level promote the understanding on behalf of the international community that the people of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh, just like other nations in the world, have the right to master their own destiny, to live free and secure on their own land.
The French Senators shared with Serzh Sargsyan their impressions of the meetings in Armenia and the visit to Artsakh. They noted that their visit to Artsakh was pretty useful and now they know in detail the history of the NK conflict and hail Armenia’s constructive position at the peace negotiations.
