On the 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Serzh Sargsyan visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial

Today, on the 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial, paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Mets Eghern and laid a wreath at the monument.

The President visited also the Institute-Museum of the Armenian Genocide and observed the “Books – Witnesses of the Genocide” temporary exhibition, which comprises almost 300 pieces of old, printed documentary materials which are important primary sources. The exhibition is organized in the framework of the events dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Armenian printing and UNESCO decision to declare Yerevan the World Book Capital 2012. At the Institute-Museum, the President was briefed on the blueprint of the new unit of the Museum which will have larger opportunities for the organization of exhibitions.
