President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Armavir marz

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Armavir marz.

At Sardarapat community of the marz, the President visited the newly opened greenhouse of the HOMEGREEN Paradise Company, familiarized with the works accomplished by the Company and its development programs.

HOMEGREEN Paradise Company, which was established in 2011 to create a large greenhouse enterprise, acquired 20, 0 hectares of land in Sardarapat community, 1,1 hectares of which were allocated for the construction of the greenhouses. Construction was concluded late March this year; the first harvest is expected to be reaped in late April.

With regard to the development programs of the Company, the President of Armenia was informed that negotiations with a Dutch company are underway to expand the greenhouse enterprise up to 15 hectares. Later, in addition to the Nazrvan sort of cucumbers, the greenhouse will be growing other vegetable too such as tomatoes, bell peppers and certain sorts of flowers. According to the leadership of the Company, the market for their produce in addition to Armenia will also include the capital and other major cities of the Russian Federation.

In Armavir, President Serzh Sargsyan familiarized also with the program for the rehabilitation of the irrigation system of the marz. President Sargsyan was reported that through the funds allocated by the World Bank, in 2012 in the framework of the program for the rehabilitation of the irrigation system, works in Myasnikian community are going on and will finished in the end of the year. It is expected that the program will improve the irrigation water supply and curb the existing considerable waste in the system.

In accordance with the timetable of measures adopted by the Presidential decree in 2008, for the renovation of the inter and inner irrigation systems of the enterprises in Myasnikian community, construction works of the internal network, which is 2.95 km long, are conducted now with the 15% co-payment by the community. The renovated system will improve considerably the irrigation of the homestead lands.

In the framework to his working visit to Armavir, the President visited also the secondary school of Myasnikian community, which was renovated by the Children of Armenia Fund in the framework of the “Comprehensive development program for the RA rural areas.” The school is built in compliance with modern requirements, with innovative approaches: there is an outdoors classroom, a up-to-date classroom-laboratory, a chess room, a library with the media center. The President visited also n. 5 School of Armavir marz. During the tour of the school, Serzh Sargsyan was informed that the unit n. 3 of this educational establishment, which comprises seven units, was totally renovated in 2011 through the state funds. Funds have also been allocated for the renovation of the unit n. 2 and the works are be finished this year.

In the Armavir regional library, President Sargsyan familiarized with the renovation works and the installed security system which was done through the 2011 RA state budget means. Serzh Sargsyan was informed that through the Eurasia Foundation program, the library was supplemented also with technical devises and reading materials. Currently, the library stock comprises 110737.

The renovated regional library now has broad possibilities for the organization of different events.

In the reading hall of the library, President Serzh Sargsyan participated at the event dedicated to the 1650th birth anniversary of Mesrop Mashtots, which was organized in the framework of the 500th anniversary of the Armenian book printing.
