President Serzh Sargsyan visited the newly opened industrial unit of the Likvor Ltd pharmaceutical company
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan visited the newly opened industrial unit of the Likvor Ltd pharmaceutical company in Yerevan. Likvor is one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Armenia.
The President of Armenia was present at the inauguration ceremony of the plant. Later, he toured the premise and familiarized with the production capacities and programs of Likvor.
The contributors to this project, which commenced at 2008, are the EBRD and the Armenian Government which became the shareholders of the company in 2005. The program was completed in the framework of the RA Government anti-crisis program. In 2009, President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Likvor company, which at the time was renting space at the Armenia Republican Medical Center, and discussed with the management of the company opportunities of concluding the construction of the new unit through the assistance of the RA Government Operative Anti-crisis Office and spoke about the prospects of development of this pharmaceutical enterprise. Likvor company presented to the Operative Anti-crisis Office its business plan which was discussed and adopted same year, allowing the company to expand its activities through the provided assistance.
Investments into the construction, purchase and assembling of this entirely new complex, its infrastructure, modern equipment and systems reached almost 4.5 million USD. It was noted that the production is based on the modern Italian, German and Austrian technologies. The new regional unit will be functioning also in line with the European GMP standards which will allow to increase the number of export countries, add to the production volumes, create new jobs as well as to continue research works for the creation of new medicine.
Likvor company, which was established in 1991, produces sterile intravenous, ophthalmologic and injection medications. The company offers 70 different medications which include 27 groups of pharmaceuticals. The Licensing Department of Armenia has already registered 25 of the company’s products.
