Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received delegation headed by the Vice-President of the European Parliament Libor Rucek.
The President of Armenia welcomed the fact that the EP delegation’s visit to our country was timed to participate at the festivities dedicated to the 20th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Armenia. “During these twenty years, along with the strengthening of Armenia’s state structures, we have also been developing our relations with the European structures. In recent years, the process of Armenia’s Eurointegration has become much more pronounced,” President Sargsyan said. According to Serzh Sargsyan, Armenia has adopted a statebuilding model based on the system of values of the European family and with this regard close cooperation with the European Parliament is crucial for Armenia’s Eurointegration process. The President underscored that European Union is not only an important partner for Armenia in the areas of foreign policy, trade and economy but also in the framework of the cooperation aimed at the internal reformation.
In his words, Armenia is determined to walk down the path of the reforms with the assistance, application of the expertise and counsel of the European Union.
The parties stressed the importance of cooperation in the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership aimed at the development of the region, enhancement of cooperation and prosperity.
Libor Rucek congratulate the President of Armenia on the 20th anniversary of independence and said that progress achieved by Armenia in recent years is observable. He added that it’s a nonstop process and it’s not possible to solve problems in a short period of time, to have mature democracy and prosperous country. He underlined the importance of the reforms and assured that on its road toward Eurointegration Armenia will continue to receive all necessary assistance.
