Serzh Sargsyan received Valeri Gergiev
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Artistic and General Director of the Saint Petersburg Mariinski Theater Valeri Gergiev.
The President noted that people in Armenia love and await to see Valeri Gergiev and consider him a friend of the Armenian people. “You directed Armenia’s symphonic orchestra for five years. It means that you dedicated five years of your life to our music, our culture. We are happy to see you in Armenia now, when we celebrate the 20th anniversary of independence,” President Sargsyan said.
The world-famous conductor underscored that Armenia has played and is playing a great and very important role in his life. He said that he was extremely happy to be able to participate at this wonderful holiday and communicate with the Armenian public. Valeri Gergiev noted that he recalls years spent in Armenia with great pleasure and always look forward to visiting Armenia.
