President Sargsyan received the Minister of Regional Development of the Russian Federation Victor Basargin
President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Minister of Regional Development of the Russian Federation Victor Basargin.
The President of Armenia welcomed the RF Minister of Regional Development, who has arrived to Armenia to participate at the first Armenian-Russian interregional conference, and noted that together with his colleague, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, he attaches great importance to interregional cooperation. Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance of the conference, and expressed hope that Minister Basargin’s visit and the conference would become a serious impetus for the development of our bilateral relations. President Sargsyan highlighted also the importance of the efficient use of the RF Armenian Diaspora’s potential in strengthening ties and expanding cooperation among the regions of Armenia and Russia.
Minister Basargin too stressed the importance of developing interregional cooperation for the deepening and enhancement of the two countries’ strategic relations and noted that it is proved by the ongoing negotiations and reached agreements.
He also said that President Serzh Sargsyan has played a great role in the development of the Armenian-Russian interregional cooperation.
“Recently, you have visited a number of Russia’s regions, our most promising regions, where we observe big potential for the economic and humanitarian development. Today, over 70 administrative units of the Russian Federation directly or indirectly cooperate with Armenia,” Victor Basargin, the Minister of Regional Development of the Russian Federation said.
