President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Shirak marz
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Shirak marz. The President of Armenia visited Mush-2 newly constructed community in Gyumri, familiarized with the construction works and observed conveniences in the apartments.
During the tour of the newly built community, President Sargsyan was presented the program of the housing construction for the families from Shirak and Lori marzes which lost shelter during the earthquake, and familiarized with the occupancy process of the Mush-2 multiapartment buildings.
It was also noted that the Government made a decision to allocate 8 apartments to the Ministry of Defense to provide the homeless families of the killed (dead) servicemen of Shirak marz with homes. Housing conditions for eight families were verified and their documents were filed, apartments were allocated through drawing lots and today the representatives of the Ministry of Defense handed the apartment certificates to their owners.
From Gyumri, Serzh Sargsyan left for Bandivan community of Amasya where he visited paternal home of first lieutenant Hovhannes Sukiassian, a contract officer, who was mortally wounded by the enemy at the combat positions on January 20, 2011. President Sargsyan expressed condolences to the family of the freedom fighter, thanked them for bring up such a son and apologized for not being able to keep him alive.
“As the President of Armenia, I want to assure you that I will do everything so that the NK issue is solved by peaceful means and so that it’s a dignified peace. It would be the best tribute to all our fallen heroes. They defended our Motherland sacrificing their own lives and we will seal a dignified peace,” said President Sargsyan. Afterwards, Serzh Sargsyan, along with the father and grandfather of Hovhannes, visited the grave of the officer.
In the framework of the visit to Amasya, President Sargsyan visited also Bandivan Milk Ltd. in Bandivan community, familiarized with the works of the company and inquired about the opportunities for the expansion of purchase and production volumes.
The President was informed that the company has been functioning since 2007 and it is processing milk, producing butter and cheese. The company is also engaged in pig-breeding. At the Bandivan Milk Ltd. the President was assured that the company will increase its production capacities which will considerably contribute to the resolution of the social and economic problems of the village. President Sargsyan was informed also about the most pressing issues facing Bandivan; they pertain to the gasification of the village and purchase of agricultural machinery. The owner of the Bandivan Ltd. made a promise to the President to solve the problem of gasification which is very important for the village, particularly, in the light of the fact that starting from April 1 the gas prices will be reduced. With the leader of the community the President of Armenia spoke about the developmental problems of the village and promised to assist in acquiring the needed agricultural machinery.
