President Serzh Sargsyan met with the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group
President Serzh Sargsyan met today with the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Bernard Fassier (France), Robert Bradtke (USA), Igor Popov (Russia) and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk, who have arrived to Armenia in the framework of a regional visit.
The President of Armenia reiterated the readiness of the Armenian side to continue negotiations based on the agreements reached by the parties in Sochi, at the meeting mediated by the President of the Russian Federation. It was also noted that after the meeting the Armenian side has taken consistent steps to inform public on the reached agreements and shape an atmosphere of mutual trust among the parties.
The parties spoke also about the provocations made by the Azeri side after the meeting in Sochi, including murder of an Armenian serviceman, destructive statements, particularly regarding the killing of a 9-year old by an Armenian sharpshooter.
Serzh Sargsyan noted that the accusation is totally false since actions against the civilian population, above all against children are morally unacceptable for the Armenian troops. In this particular case, it’s a bogus accusation because the terrain in the mentioned location makes it technically impossible.
The parties discussed subsequent steps in the NK peace process.
