President Serzh Sargsyan invited a meeting of the National Security Council
The President of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the National Security Council Serzh Sargsyan invited today a meeting of the National Security Council. Participants of the meeting discussed and adopted a state program for the development of military hardware and equipment in 2011-2015.
The state program is a result of the midterm planning works conducted in the Armenian armed forces and has been developed based on the outcome of the previous stages of the RA defense strategy review process initiated in 2008. The program will provide all necessary tools for thwarting any military threats to Armenia’s security.
It was noted at the meeting that the acquisition of the modern armaments would considerably increase combat readiness of the RA troops. The implementation of the program will also deepen Armenia’s midterm and long-term military security.
