President Serzh Sargsyan received the Heads of the CIS Customs administrations

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Heads of the CIS Customs administrations. They arrived to Armenia to participate in the 52nd session of the Council of the CIS Heads of Customs administrations.

Serzh Sargsyan welcomed convening of the Council session in Armenia and stressed that our country attaches great importance to the activities of the CIS specialized and administrative bodies. Serzh Sargsyan underscored significance of the customs work which is aimed at the deepened integration of the CIS member states, conformity and synchronization of the customs regulations, improvement of customs procedures which will allow to jointly find solutions to the emerging issues.

The President of Armenia expressed hope that issues to be discussed in the framework of the Yerevan session of the Council would allow to elevate the cooperation between the customs administrations to a qualitatively new level. According to the President, all these combined will promote the growth of the turnover among the member states, more dynamic interaction between the enterprises and eventually, along with the economic development will bring prosperity to our citizens which emanates from interest of any country.

The participants of the meeting thanked the President of Armenia for the invitation to convene the session of the Council in Yerevan and noted that the meetings of the Heads of the CIS Customs administration, which are organized regularly, are mutually beneficial and are being conducted in a working atmosphere. They presented to Serzh Sargsyan the general outline of the issues and programs designed to address them.

President Sargsyan wished the participants of the meeting all the best in their work.
