On the occasion of Armenia’s 19th Anniversary of Independence, President Serzh Sargsyan has been receiving numerous congratulatory messages from the leaders of foreign states and international organizations, as well as private citizens.
The congratulatory message sent by the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev states in particular,
“Dear Mr. President,
I cordially congratulate you on Armenia’s National Holiday – Independence Day. During my recent visit to Armenia it became apparent that the Armenian-Russian friendship and centuries long traditions continue to build up. Our citizens take pride in glorious pages of our common history, common achievements and victories, and the restoration of the Hill of Honor, the inauguration of which we attended together with You as serves a bright example. We are grateful to the Armenian people for cherishing the memory of our soldiers.
Today, Armenia and Russia build strategic partnership on the basis of mutual trust and cooperation, conduct active political dialogue, and coordinate their steps on the regional and international arenas. We have reached a point of making important decisions regarding the promotion of joint programs in the economic – including innovations, - and humanitarian areas.
I am confident that the implementation of the reached agreements will expand the bilateral relations for the benefit of the citizens of our countries, for peace and stability in Trans-Caucasus.
I wish you good health and new success, and I wish peace and prosperity to the people of Armenia.”
