The President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev has arrived to Yerevan on a state visit
At the invitation of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, tonight the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, accompanied by Mrs. Svetlana Medvedeva, has arrived to Yerevan on a state visit.
The delegation of the Russian President comprises the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Defense Anatoli Serdyukov, Minister of Transportations, Co-Chair of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation Igor Levitin, Representative of the Russian President in the North-Western Federal region Ilya Klebanov, Governor of Ulyankovsk region Sergei Morozov, and other officials.
At the international Zvartnots Airport the President of the Russian Federation and his spouse were greeted by the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Mrs. Rita Sargsyan. After the official welcoming ceremony, Dmitry Medvedev, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian, visited the Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Memorial and the Memory Park, where in 2008 during his official visit he planted a tree.
In the evening, a state dinner will be held in the honor of the President of the Russian Federation on behalf of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
