President Serzh Sargsyan received the Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri, who has arrived to Armenia to participate at the 8th session of the Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
Welcoming the visit of the Georgian Prime Minister to Armenia, President Sargsyan said, “We are good neighbors and should maintain frequent contacts to discuss all issues which might arise from time to time. The volume of our cooperation and level of our relations make us work on those issues on a regular basis.
We view Georgia as a brotherly, friendly state and are ready to deepen our relations even further.”
The Prime Minister of Georgia conveyed to the President of Armenia warm greetings from President Sahakashvili and his invitation to President Sargsyan to visit Georgia. “We are enjoying the best possible, brotherly relations”, Nika Gilauri said.
The President of Armenia inquired about the works of the intergovernmental commission. Noting, that the 8th session of the commission was very productive, the Prime Minister of Georgia said, “We have discussed multiple issues: infrastructure, culture, social issues and other programs and reached agreement on almost all of them.” He also informed that the next session of the commission will take place in Georgia.
The parties concurred that the Armenian-Georgian relations encompass a wide range of issues of mutual interest and spoke about the issues on the bilateral agenda.
The President of Armenia and the Prime Minister of Georgia exchanged views on economic situation in both countries and anti-crisis steps undertaken by the two Governments. In addition, they also discussed the regional issues.
