The newly appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Kovalenko presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

Congratulating the Ambassador, President Sargsyan said that Russia is Armenia’s strategic ally and main economic partner which means that the level of bilateral relations is very high and the volume of annual work is significant. With this regard he attached special importance to the activities of the Russian Ambassador in Armenia.

Wishing the new Ambassador productive work, the President of Armenia assured that during his tenure he could count on receiving the utmost assistance from the Armenian state structures.

Vyacheslav Kovalenko said that as Ambassador he would do his best to further develop the Armenian-Russian strategic partnership and noted that he personally has a deep admiration for the Armenian people, their history and culture.

The Russian Ambassador also noted that he had already developed some ideas and programs and assured that he would use his experience not only to maintain but also add new directions to the traditional Armenian-Russian cooperation.

During the conversation, which followed the ceremony of presenting credentials, President Sargsyan and Ambassador Kovalenko discussed a number of issues from the bilateral agenda and exchanged views on the regional developments.
