President Serzh Sargsyan visited Likvor pharmaceutical company
On the eve of Women’s Day, President Serzh Sargsyan visited Likvor pharmaceutical company where majority of the employees are women. The President of Armenia congratulated them on the occasion of the holiday, and wished them love, happiness, and joy.
The company was established 17 years ago and currently is producing sixty different drugs, including intravenous, ophthalmologic, and sterile injection medications.
The President of Armenia visited the production facility, observed the working conditions, and learned about the development prospects. One of the Likvor’s shareholders is the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Through the investment of the EBRD, the company has been able to obtain a new German production line increasing the assortment of the production and manufacturing high quality drugs which are in great demand in the countries of Eastern Europe, Middle East, and the CIS.
Likvor is planning to augment its production by 3 to 5 new drugs every year. The company has presented its business plan to the government anticipating financial support to expedite the construction of a new plant. According to the management of the company, with the government’s assistance they will be able to open the new plant in one year, which will be functioning in accordance with the European GMP standards. Consequently, it will allow to expand the list of export countries, to increase production, create new jobs as well as to continue research work for the creation of new medication.
