The new transportation hub on the central streets of Yerevan has been inaugurated
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan participated at the inauguration ceremony of the one of the major transportation hubs in the central part of Yerevan. The hub takes in Khanjian, Charents and Heratsi, Koryun and Nalbanidian streets.
The idea of constructing a highway connecting southeast and northwest segments of the capital was developed back in 1970s-80s, however it has become a reality only after Armenia’s independence. The construction works were launched in 2007. For the construction of the last segment of the highway, which is 2,6 km long, 8.5 billion AMD were allocated from the state budget. This transportation route is called upon to considerably relieve the traffic situation in the central parts of Yerevan.
On December 3, the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Repressions, President Serzh Sargsyan participated also at the opening ceremony of the Memorial dedicated to the victims of repressions located in front of the Victory Park and placed flowers at the monument.
