President Serzh Sargsyan received the President of the Constitution Court of the Federal Republic of Germany, Hans-Jurgen Papier
Today President Serzh Sargsyan received the President of the Constitution Court of the Federal Republic of Germany, Hans-Jurgen Papier and his delegation.
The President of Armenia noted with satisfaction active political contacts between Armenia and Germany and their continuous nature.
Stressing the importance of cooperation with such a prominent institution as the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany, the President of Armenia expressed confidence that it would improve the system of constitutional justice in our country.
“Our goal is to guarantee constitutional justice in Armenia, and the promotion, respect and full implementation of human rights,” the President of Armenia said and added, “We need your experience and wish to use it to fortify the state authorities.”
The President of the Constitution Court of the Federal Republic of Germany briefed the President of Armenia on the Court’s activities and its 60-years old history. Noting that they were impressed by Armenia’s readiness to look outside its borders and to absorb the new, Hans-Jurgen Papier said that they were ready to share their experience with the Armenian colleagues.
Serzh Sargsyan spoke also about the Armenian-German bilateral relations, stressing that they have been successfully developing in all areas. Germany is the second donor country for Armenia, as well as the second trade partner among the EU states. In addition, the German investments in Armenia are also substantial.
