The President of Armenia and President of the Armenia’s Chess Federation, Serzh Sargsyan attended a one-day UN Cup chess tournament
Today the President of Armenia and President of the Armenia’s Chess Federation, Serzh Sargsyan attended a one-day UN Cup chess tournament which opened at the grounds of the Yerevan State University.
The President of Armenia observed the competition.
In his opening remarks Minister for Sport and Youth Affairs Armen Grigorian said that this traditional tournament was expanding, attracting more competitors including those from marzes which proves that the chess playing in our country becomes more and more popular.
UN Resident Coordinator in our country Ms. Consuelo Vidal noted that the purpose of this tournament is to spread the UN ideas, values and principles in Armenia.
