Today President Serzh Sargsyan received delegation of the Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA), headed by the Executive Director, Andrew Torikian.

The President of Armenia extended his congratulations on the 90th Anniversary of the AMAA and said that it is a good opportunity to evaluate its activities. Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance of all Armenian organizations working toward the preservation of the Armenian identity, their involvement in Armenia’s life, as well as the importance of using the potential of the Armenian nation for the benefit of the Motherland and the Armenian people.

The President of Armenia noted that the main tasks of the newly formed Ministry for Diaspora would be the preservation of the Armenian identity, repatriation, and full and purposeful realization of the potential of the Armenian nation.

The guests briefed the President of Armenia on the history of the establishment of the Armenian Missionary Association of America. They spoke about different programs currently being implemented in Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh and presented the new ones. It was noted that along with the humanitarian programs the Association is planning to implement development projects.
