President Vahagn Khachaturyan's working visit to the Republic of Argentina

As part of his working visit to the Republic of Argentina, President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the President-elect of Argentina Javier Milei.
Before the inauguration ceremony to be held on December 10, the meeting between Javier Milei and Vahagn Khachaturyan is scheduled the first among the meetings of the President-elect of Argentina.

Javier Milei welcomed President Khachaturyan and expressed his gratitude for accepting the invitation to participate in his inauguration ceremony. "It is a privilege for me to meet with you. I have been to Armenia and I am familiar with Armenia. I am confident that we will further deepen and strengthen our relations," the President-elect of Argentina noted.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, Vahagn Khachaturyan congratulated Javier Milei on winning the elections. "Please accept my heartfelt congratulations to you on the victory, I am convinced that we will do our best to raise the Armenian-Argentine relations to a higher level. I also wish to express my gratitude to the top leadership of Argentina for the support provided to Armenia over the recent years. We always sense the presence of Argentina in our country," the President noted.

During the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan invited Javier Milei to Armenia on behalf of himself and the Prime Minister of Armenia, in response to which the President-elect of Argentina stated that he would be glad to visit Yerevan if possible, thereby further contributing to the strengthening of relations between the two countries.
At the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the fields of bilateral interest and the promotion of investment programs. During the discussion, both sides emphasized the need for consistent reforms in the state administration system.

Toward the end of the meeting, the importance of promoting effective cooperation between Armenia and Argentina was highlighted.

As part of his s working visit to the Republic of Argentina, President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with representatives of Armenian organizations in Argentina.

President of the Republic of Armenia introduced the participants of the meeting to details of the ongoing processes in Armenia, domestic developments and the reforms underway in the country.

In his speech, President Khachaturyan thoroughly addressed the steps taken and plans being developed by the Armenian authorities toward addressing the humanitarian and socio-economic issues of the forcible displaced population from Nagorno-Karabakh.

Toward the end of the meeting, the President answered the questions of the audience in a frank atmosphere.

As part of his working visit to the Republic of Argentina, President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the current President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the perspectives and possibilities of consistent development of Armenian-Argentine relations.

The two Presidents touched upon the great potential for cooperation in bilateral relations, for the exercise of which geographical distance should not be an obstacle.

During the discussion, the Presidents addressed the recent developments in the South Caucasus region and the challenges facing Armenia and the Armenian people. In this context, President Fernández emphasized that being a lawyer by profession, he always raised his voice against the injustices committed against the Armenian people.

Toward the end of the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan awarded the outgoing President Alberto Fernández the Order of Honor.

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan attended the formal events and inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of the Republic of Argentina Javier Milei in the Casa Rosada Presidential Palace in Buenos Aires.

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan had a meeting with Cardinal Jorge García Cuerva of Buenos Aires in the Cathedral of Buenos Aires.

During the meeting, both sides underscored the impartial role of spiritual and ecclesiastical entities in forging public solidarity and neutralizing the polarization within the society.

During the discussion, the sides touched upon the possibilities and areas of unveiling new horizons for closer spiritual and cultural relations between Armenia and Argentina.

Toward the end of the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan toured the Cathedral, familiarized himself with the history and cultural heritage of the Cathedral, and visited the hall dedicated to the Armenian Apostolic Church inside the Cathedral.

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the renowned Ateneo bookstore of Buenos Aires as part of his working visit to the Republic of Argentina.

The President toured the bookstore, familiarized himself with the publications and book depository covering different periods.

During the tour, President Vahagn Khachaturyan left a note in the book of guests of honor of the bookstore.

Touching upon the importance of the reading culture and education in general, the President noted that the incessant use of a building that is one of the most notable works of Argentine architecture as a bookstore speaks of the special attitude and appreciation of the Argentine people and leadership to books and knowledge.

Within the framework of the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of the Republic of Argentina, Vahagn Khachaturian met with King Felipe VI of Spain, President of Uruguay Luis Lacalle Pou, President of Paraguay Santiago Peña , President of Chile Gabriel Boric, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán at the Casa Rosada Presidential Palace in Buenos Aires.

During the meetings, issues related to bilateral relations, pathways to fully exercise the existing potential were discussed.

During the talks with foreign partners, President Vahagn Khachaturyan introduced details of the steps taken by the Armenian side to establish sustainable and lasting peace in the region, and addressed the underlying principles and provisions of the Crossroads of Peace concept put forward by Armenia.

As part of his working visit to the Republic of Argentina, President Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the Armenian-Argentine School.

The educational complex was built in 1954 at the initiative of the Siranoush and Boghos Arzoumanian Foundation and was passed on to the Argentine government as sign of appreciation and gratitude for the assistance and support provided to Armenians. Argentinian students study in the educational complex.

The President of the Republic of Armenia was welcomed by the Principal of the school Soledad Strong and the representative of the Ministry of Culture of Buenos Aires. In honor of the Armenian President's visit to the school, the teaching staff and students of the complex prepared an Armenian-Argentine cultural program including national dance, music and traditions of both countries.

Argentinian students performed a number of Armenian folk works, including compositions of Komitas.

Toward the end of the impressive program, Vahagn Khachaturyan greeted the attendees and emphasized that the Armenian-Argentine School is a vivid evidence of the strong friendship between the Armenian and Argentine peoples.

"Argentina has a special role for us Armenians given its nature, emotions and kind attitude towards Armenians. After the independence of Armenia, this educational cooperation gained a new momentum. I am confident that Armenian-Argentine cooperation will further persist and I am hopeful that our Armenian-Argentine school in Yerevan will make such a beautiful surprise to our Argentine friends who will visit Armenia," said the President.

Toward the end of the meeting, the President left a note in the guest book of the school.
