Working visit of President Armen Sarkissian to Paris
President Armen Sarkissian, who is in France on a working visit, attended the International Paris Air Show in Le Bourget.
The biennial event, which is organized on the grounds of the Le Bouget airport in Paris, is the world’s largest show in the area of aeronautics both in scope and the number of participants.
President Sarkissian toured the pavilions, familiarized with the samples exhibited by the world’s leading companies in this area and their technical capacities, and watched the air show.
The Air Show in Le Bourge demonstrates the last generation military and civil aircrafts as well as up-to-date achievements and innovations of the space exploration and aerospace technologies.
Among the visitors of the show are the world’s leading companies specializing in the production of the airspace equipment and devices as well as delegations from different countries of the world.
The previous show of 2017 received 322,000 visitors and 290 delegations from 98 countries.

President Armen Sarkissian, who is in France on a working visit, at the Air Show in Le Bourget visited the pavilion of the renowned Italian Leonardo company.
The leadership of the company presented to Armen Sarkissian the production of the firm and the latest technologies, their capacities and innovations in this area.
Later, President Sarkissian had a private meeting with the Chief Executive Director of the Leonardo Alessandro Profumo. At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed in particular opportunities of cooperation with Armenia in the areas of information technologies, education, and artificial intelligence.
The Leonardo company, which specializes in the production of defense, security, and airspace related equipment, widely applies high technologies in its products and attaches great importance to the development of information technologies.
President Sarkissian invited the leadership of the company to visit Armenia, to see firsthand and discuss perspective opportunities for cooperation.

President Armen Sarkissian, who is in France on a working visit, at the Air Show in Le Bourget visited today the pavilion of the renowned French company Dassault systemes.
The President toured the pavilion, familiarized with the production of the company which includes the new generation military and civil aircrafts, military, and airspace equipment.
Later, President Sarkissian met with the Vice Presidents of the company Ms Florence Verzelen and Ms Valerie Ferret as well as with the Senior Director for Academic Programs Mr Xavier Fouger.
At the meeting, discussed were the areas of cooperation with Armenia and the recent visit of Vice Presidents Florence Verzelen and Valerie Ferret to Armenia. The leadership of the company informed that based on the results of the visit a package of proposals was prepared related to the cooperation in the areas of education, information technologies, and artificial intelligence which was given to President Sarkissian. It was noted that the programs would be aimed at establishing a link between education and economy to ensure the use of the modern technologies for the development of various sectors of the economy.
President Sarkissian thanked for the proposals and noted that the package would be sent to the relevant structures for examining. The parties agreed that a delegation from the company would once again visit Armenia to make the programs more precise.
The Dassault systemes company provides software for the military, airspace, defense, and energy systems and at the Air Show in Le Bourget displays innovative technological solutions.

In the framework of the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, President Armen Sarkissian met also with Olivier Dassault, President of Strategy and Development at aerospace and software conglomerate Dassault Group. At this prestigious international aviation exhibition, the Dassault Group, and particularly Dassault Aviation, presents military and business class aircrafts manufactured by the company.
President Sarkissian and Olivier Dassault spoke about possible avenues of cooperation with Armenia. They referred to the recent visit of the representatives of the Dassault systemes organization, which constitutes part of Dassault Group, to Armenia and the already outlined cooperation.
“Relations between our countries are very important, we have excellent relations. We hope Dassault systemes, maybe Dassault Aviation, too, will carry out joint works with Armenia,” Olivier Dassault said.
President Sarkissian expressed thanks for friendship and readiness to cooperate. “First and foremost, I am looking forward to having with Dassault systemes a joint research center in Armenia which will invest in the areas of artificial intelligence, mathematics, and information technology. Because of that, Dassault Group and Armenia will become longtime partners.”
Later, President Sarkissian and Olivier Dassault toured the exhibition, familiarized with the models presented by Dassault Aviation and their technical abilities.

President Armen Sarkissian in France, in the framework of the International Paris Air Show in Le Bourget visited the pavilion of the renowned Italian company Elettronica Group. President Sarkissian met with the CEO of Elettronica Group company Enzo Benigni. The company provides services in the areas of defense, security and cybersecurity and is considered one of the world leaders in this area.
Enzo Benigni expressed gratitude to President Sarkissian for the visit and interest towards the works of the company. “We are very glad to see you in our pavilion. Regardless of our personal friendship, this visit is very important, and to receive the President of Armenia here today is a great honor for our company and for the Show in general. Friendship of Armenia and Italy is very strong, and we want to make it even stronger,” he noted.
President Sarkissian expressed gratitude for the readiness to cooperate and noted that Armenia is interested in working with Elettronica Group in the areas of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, as well as in military production. He underscored that in the mentioned areas our country has a well-developed potential. The interlocutors spoke about the anti-drone innovative solutions and possibilities of cooperation in that area.
The parties reached the agreement that a delegation from the company would visit Armenia to learn firsthand about the existing potential and to meet with potential partners.

In the framework of his visit to the International Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, President Armen Sarkissian was hosted at the pavilion of the Russian United Aircraft Corporation.
Accompanied by the representatives of the company, President Sarkissian familiarized with the modern samples of aircrafts manufactured in Russia, learned about their capacities, and technical dimensions.
The main directions of the Russian United Aircraft Corporation are production of technical equipment for civil and military aviation, maintenance, modernization, servicing, etc.
United Aircraft Corporation comprises over 30 firms and is considered one of the major companies on the international market. Companies in its conglomerate include SU, MIG, IL, YAK, as well as SSJ, МС-2 famous brands.

In the framework of the International Air Show in Le Bourget, President Sarkissian visited the pavilion of the French leader in technologies the THALES Group.
The leadership of the company presented to Armen Sarkissian the samples of their production and the newest technologies, their capabilities and innovations in this area.Afterwards, President Sarkissian met with the President of THALES Group Patrice Caine and the leadership of the company.
Patrice Caine welcomed the visit of the Armenian President to the international aviation show and presented innovations which their company demonstrates at this prestigious show in the areas of airspace, defense, transportation, and security.
At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the recent visit of the representatives of the company to Armenia and possible areas of cooperation. It was noted that a pertinent document of cooperation was prepared after the visit. As feasible was viewed in particular the implementation of the joint programs in the areas of artificial intelligence, digital data management and in a number of other areas.
The parties reached the agreement to establish working groups to examine concrete directions for cooperation. A group of representatives of THALES Group will conduct another visit to Armenia shortly.

In the framework of the International Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, President Armen Sarkissian visited the pavilion of the world leader in this area Airbus company.
The President toured the pavilion, familiarized with the technical capabilities of the models and applied innovative solutions.
With the Vice President and Regional Director of the company Lionel Champion President Sarkissian conversed about the opportunities to develop cooperation with Armenia, proposed to visit Armenia and learn firsthand about the existing potential. He stressed in particular that Armenia possesses a great potential for development in the areas of technologies, artificial intelligence which might be perspective from the viewpoint of cooperation with Airbus. Representatives of Airbus expressed readiness to visit Armenia.

President Sarkissian visited also the pavilion of Air Asia company. The company is viewed as the most well-known and demanded lowcoster in the Asian region.
President Sarkissian discussed with the CEO of Air Asia Tony Fernandes the opportunities of cooperation with Armenia and proposed to consider the Armenian market for their activities. President Sarkissian invited him to visit Armenia and learn firsthand about the opportunities for cooperation. Tony Fernandes expressed readiness for establish cooperation and accepted the invitation to visit Armenia.

Accompanied by the representatives of the company, President Sarkissian familiarized with the latest innovations and modern systems.
Safran is one of the leading world companies in the area of high technologies which supplies new generation systems and equipment for airspace and military areas.
President Armen Sarkissian discussed with the Director for Foreign Relations of the company Jean-Pierre Rayssac perspectives and possible areas of cooperation.
