President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana
On July 5-6 President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana.
The President of Armenia participated at the Summit of the Heads of State who arrived to Astana on the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the foundation of the city, and took part at the festivities dedicated to the occasion.
The Heads of State attending the event were presented by President Nursultan Nazarbaev with commemorative “Astana” medals, issued on the occasion of the city’s 10th Anniversary.
The Presidents attended the official assembly, during which the President of Kazakhstan summarized the ten years which passed after his momentous decision to transfer the capital of the country from Alma Ata to Astana. He said that even though a lot of people were critical and unenthusiastic about the decision, the initiative was a success.
The Heads of State visited also the Peace and Solidarity Palace. President Serzh Sargsyan planted a tree in the “Presidential Alley”.
Later that night the high guests participated at the “From Moscow with love” gala concert, with the participation of the Moscow artists.
