President Serzh Sargsyan’s working visit to Vayots Dzor
President Serzh Sargsyan today paid a working visit to the Vayots Dzor marz. The Armenian president attended the opening ceremony of Gndevaz-based Ecofarm LLC. This livestock complex, which is designed for cattle breeding and production of raw milk and cheese, was founded in September 2013. Its construction works finished in December 2014. The complex is mainly oriented towards milk production. For this purpose it raises pedigree beef and milk calves imported from Germany. The company plans to produce up to 1.16 million kg milk from around 300 head of pedigree cattle.
The newly-opened complex is designed in accordance with international food security requirements and does not yield to European quality and management standards in its technical equipment. The complex employs 15 permanent and 45 seasonal employees whose average monthly salary comprises from 100 to 120 thousand drams.
Serzh Sargsyan visited the construction site of Jermuk Group CJSC’s new factory in Jermuk, familiarized himself with the status of the construction works and the company’s development projects. According to the executives, as a result of Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, Jermuk Group’s products have gained on high demand across member states, especially the Russian Federation. However, the factory’s production capacity does not allow for full satisfaction of export demand. For this purpose, the company has decided to build a new factory and buy modern bottling and packing production lines. The project started in April 2015 and is expected to finish in the first quarter of 2016. The president was presented that the new production lines will provide the opportunity to fully automatize production processes and considerably increase production capacity.
Afterwards, the Armenian president visited the newly-built Hyatt Place Jermuk Hotel and joined its solemn opening ceremony. Developed within the frames of RA Government Decree N1064-N of September 18 2008 proclaiming Jermuk a tourism center which had been envisioned by the RA president’s pre-election program, the main goal of the Jermuk Development Program is to transform the town into a year-round historical-cultural tourism center for healthy active life and to bring it in line with modern international standards. It is this goal that is pursued by the activities of the Hyatt Place Jermuk Hotel with its high quality service of Hyatt Place brand. The construction of the hotel complex started in late 2009 and finished in May 2015. It consists of one central and two other buildings – southern and northern. The adjacent one-hectare area has been improved to serve as a green area for public use. The total building space of the hotel complex comprises around 12.000 sq. m. The total investments amounted to about 11.5 billion drams. The complex includes a recreational and relaxation zone, a SPA and hydropathic center with baths of Jermuk medicinal mineral waters, a gymnasium, a swimming-pool and a sauna, a children’s room, a business center, a restaurant and conference halls. The Hyatt Place Jermuk Hotel is the third hotel opened in the European region.
