President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Tavush and Lori marzes

President Serzh Sargsyan conducted today a working visit to Tavush marz.

The President of Armenia visited the Berd branch of the Yerevan Brandy Factory, where in the presence of the President the new curing unit was inaugurated. Considering the importance of the industrial development in the border regions of Armenia, the Yerevan Brandy Factory expands its activities. According to the management of the Factory, when the Berd branch becomes operational, it will also hire new employees. In Berd, President Sargsyan familiarized also with the construction works of the church. They are scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2014.

During the working visit, President Sargsyan was informed on the process of the renovation of the Chinari-Aygedzor-Artsvaberd-Verin Karmir Aghbyur-Berd road, which was started after the 30.07.2008 decision of the President.

In Tavush, President Serzh Sargsyan familiarized also with the programs for the reconstruction of the Varagavanq cloister and the highway leading there. Serz Sargsyan was informed that the reconstruction of Varagavanq is being implemented in the framework of the state-private sector cooperation. The first phase of the reconstruction of this monument is planned for May, 2012. He was also informed on the course of the reconstruction of the state highway to the Varagavanq historical monument. All intended construction works have already been accomplished, and the segment of the Ijevan-Berd highway to the cloister has been asphalted.

Today, the President visited Vaghashen community, and familiarized with the ongoing programs. It was noted that the damaged part of the Aygehovit-Vaghashen-Paravaqar highway has been renovated through the state funding, construction works of Vaghashen community center have been concluded, HayRusgazard Ltd and the community provided financial means for the gasification of the community, while the state budget allocated funds for the cleansing and renovation of the irrigation system.

In another community of the marz – Baghanis, President Sargsyan familiarized with the agricultural programs: in the framework of these programs built were drying houses, a self-flowing irrigation system, and works have been started for the gasification of the community.

In Aknaghbyur, the President visited the cattle breeding complex Himnatavush, which is being constructed in the framework of the program of the development fund and familiarized with the agriculture development programs implemented here through the assistance of Hauts-de-Seine department of France.

On April 27, the second day of his working visit to Tavush, President Serzh Sargsyan visited the construction site of the new international school in Dilijan and observed the construction works. He was informed that the international school of Dilijan, which is aimed at the creation of a regional educational center of excellence through passing rich national educational traditions and contemporary education in line with the international standards, will be formed in two stages. The first stage is to be completed in the summer of 2014. Large-scale construction works of the school will commence in June, 2012. The construction is scheduled to be finished in 2016. The School will have 650 students, aged 13-18. President Serzh Sargsyan was also informed on the construction works of the RA Central Bank’s “Dilijan” educational and research center, Dilijan Municipal Library and the apartment building of the “Dilijan” educational and research center.

During the tour of the Dilijan’s Geological Museum and Gallery, President Serzh Sargsyan familiarized with the conditions of the newly constructed premise of the Dilijan Museum, which has all modern amenities, observed the exhibits on display and the centuries-old archeological and ethnographic pieces.

President Serzh Sargsyan was showed also the road to Haghartsin monastery complex, renovated and asphalted through the funding of the Hayastan All Armenian Fund. It was noted that constructed were also a water line, gas pipeline and a power line. At the Haghartsin, President Sargsyan familiarized also with the complex reconstruction works. In the framework of his working visit to Tavush marz, the President of Armenia was informed on the gasification works to be implemented in the marz in 2012-2013.

Today, from Tavush marz President Serzh Sargsyan arrived at Lori marz, where the visit of the President commenced with the visit to the Gloria-Sartis textile mill in Vanadzor. The President observed works conducted at the textile mill and familiarized with its development programs. Back in 2009, during the President’s previous visit, the Italian SARTIS and Armenian Gloria Companies presented a joint program aimed at the expansion of the cooperation, increase of the production volumes and additional jobs. For the implementation of certain works, the management of the Company had asked for the President’s assistance in solving some issues. Those issues were solved with the assistance of the President. Today, speaking about the accomplished works, the leadership of the Company noted that the enterprise started to function after the implementation of the program and currently has over 450 employees. Gloria-Sartis Company manufactures high quality garments for the brands of international acclaim and other companies, which can compete at the European market. It was underscored that there are plans to establish after 2013 enterprises also in other regions of the country, primarily in rural communities.

In Arevashogh community of Lori marz, Serzh Sargsyan was informed on the program to provide homes to the families in the disaster zone, who had lost shelter and on the process of the housing construction in the rural communities of the marz. The President participated at the house-warming party of the families, which lost home after the earthquake, visited the newly constructed home of the Tadevossian family in Arevashogh community. In addition to the Tadevossians, another 28 families have received new homes. Later in the day, yet another 170 families in 13 communities will receive their home certificates.

In Arevashogh community, Serzh Sargsyan visited also the construction site of the Culture Club and familiarized with the ongoing works.
