President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Shirak marz

President Serzh Sargsyan conducted today a working visit to Shirak marz.

At the region’s Amasia community, the President of Armenia visited the premise of the kindergarten-center which is undergoing fundamental renovation and observed the construction works. After the conclusion of the works, which are conducted through the financing of Armenia’s Fund of Social Investments, the community will have a kindergarten for 60 children and a community center. It was noted that the construction works commenced in late August 2010; 80 percent of the works have already been completed and the construction is to be concluded in November.

In Amasia, President Sargsyan attended the opening ceremony for the newly built garment factory. During the tour of the premise the President was informed that the company is planning to initially create 150 jobs, and later the number of jobs will be doubled reaching in one year 300. Works on the construction of the garment factory were initiated in 2009 through the cooperation of the “Amasia Reconstruction” Fund and the Armenian-German “VKS Armenia” company. For almost one year, the premise of the factory was undergoing renovation with the implementation of modern technologies, also investments were made to increase the productive capacity of the factory.

It was noted that the construction plans of the factory included also construction of the 2000 sq. meter large new premise. The entire program, which is worth nearly 750 million AMD, is to be concluded in 2013. The management of the Fund assured that the prospective development plans include also construction of a new church and development of the community infrastructure, which are to be finished in 2014. In the framework of this program the community will soon have a new park whose feasibility studies have already been finished. The program also envisages the renovation of the community’s central part and construction of a new neighborhood. Development plans include the construction of a movie theater and a special town entrance with attractive architectural solutions. As a result, the region will have 500 new jobs not only in Amasia but also for the residents of other villages of the marz.

On his way to Amasia, President Serzh Sargsyan made a brief stop at Bandivan community, where he conversed with local residents and inquired on the works aimed at the resolution of the urgent problems discussed during his previous visit to Bandivan several months ago. Residents informed the President that all the problems were solved in the scheduled timeframe. In particular, Bandivan Kat Ltd. has increased its purchasing and production volume, natural gas has been brought to the community and Bandivan has received necessary agricultural equipment.
