President Vahagn Khachaturyan sent a congratulatory message to Pope Francis on the tenth anniversary of his election to the Chair of St. Peter.

The message particularly says:

“Armenia attaches great importance to the relations with the Holy See, based on spiritual, cultural, civilizational values, historical ties and traditional friendship.

We have warm recollections of your historic visit to Armenia. We highly appreciate the continuous efforts of Your Holiness, aimed at overcoming the current challenges facing mankind in the vein of dialogue, reconciliation and friendship.

I am hopeful that the privileged interstate relations will expand further and be enriched with new achievements."
