President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message to Donald Tusk on his re-election to the high position of President of the European Council.
The message reads, “I cordially congratulate you on your re-election at the high position of President of the European Council which is the best assessment of your huge work carried out for the steady future of the European Union as well as the expression of the utmost trust in you.
I highly value the sincere, constructive and warm dialogue, we had during your previous mandate; it served perfectly for the advancement of the Armenia-EU relations. Not only the Armenia-EU bilateral cooperation has deepened considerably, but also the cooperation in the framework of the Eastern Partnership.
I certainly recall especially warmly my recent visit to Brussels, our substantial discussion, as well as you cordial welcome. I am confident that the conclusion of the negotiations on the new Armenia-EU framework agreement and its subsequent entering into force will open a new page in the history of our bilateral relations, elevating them to a qualitatively new level.
We are determined to call to life all our agreements as the cooperation with the European Union promotes greatly efficient governance in Armenia, the reformation process in the areas of democratization, human rights, rule of law and other areas which is extremely important for us.
I congratulate you once again and wish years ahead full of achievements and victories for the benefit of our large region - Europe’s unity and security. Armenia stands ready to support that endeavor.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
