Today, President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message on the 170th anniversary of the Armenian Evangelical Church.
“I congratulate the Armenian Evangelical Church on the 170th anniversary of its creation.

The Armenian evangelical movement and as a result the creation in 1846 of the Armenian Evangelical Church is an inseparable part of the history of the Armenian nation thanks to its 170-years long educational, enlightening, spiritual, and benevolent activities.

Since Armenia’s independence the AEC has been bringing its participation to the statebuilding work in Armenia and Artsakh, unfolded patriotic activities in the Armenian communities abroad, and has been actively involved in the pan-national task of defending the just rights of the Armenian people.

It is commendable that the Armenian Evangelical Church is cooperating with the Armenian Apostolic Church and accepts it as Mother Church.

I am confident that the AEC with the 170 years of its rich experience and great input will continue its spiritual and nationbuilding mission aimed at the strengthening of our statehood and to the general task of the spiritual revival of the Armenian nation,” reads the congratulatory message of the President of Armenia.
