Congratulatory message of President Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of Diplomat’s Day

Distinguished Diplomats,

I congratulate you on the occasion of Diplomat’s Day.

In the course of 25 years of our independence, the Armenian diplomacy has registered impressive achievements. It is attested to by the establishment of diplomatic relations with over 160 countries, accession to 90 international organizations, signing of over 2000 international agreements and documents. All this is a result of consistent efforts and diligent work of the Armenian diplomats at the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in over sixty diplomatic missions and representations of the Republic of Armenia abroad.

Armenia’s balanced foreign policy is widely recognized on the international arena; it will allow Armenia to find solutions for the problems Armenia faces and will promote our national interests.

Last year, thousands of high-level events were organized in a dozen of countries dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. It became possible through yours – the Armenian diplomats energetic efforts. We witnessed multiple manifestions of solidarity with the Armenian nation which is yet another step towards the prevention of similar crimes in the future.

It is symbolic that you celebrate Diplomat’s Day in the new administrative building which was designed and built takinig into consideration the specifics of the MFA’s activities and representative nature. I am confident that new creative ideas and initiatives will be born here, bringing us closer to the implementation of the dearest aspirations of our state and people.

I have no doubt that you will carry on with your dedicated service for the secure and prosperous future of our country.
