Congratulatory message by President Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of the National Security Employee Appreciation Day

Esteemed employees of the National Security structures,

I cordially congratulate you and the veterans of the establishment on the occasion of your professional holiday.

The national security bodies of Armenia have evolved and developed considerably. In our modern history, you have made a significant contribution to the strengthening of the base of the Armenian statehood. Today, in the context of external challenges, when it has become more difficult to ensure a peaceful and secure development of the state and society, you continue to stand out for your great sense of responsibility and dedication.
In the contemporary world, security has become an extremely acute problem. We witness impudent and savage acts carried out even in the countries with the most sophisticated security services and law enforcement bodies. In this new situation, the ultimate priority for us all is to rule out occurrence of such tragic events and incidents in our country. The Republic of Armenia must not lose its reputation as one of the safest countries in the world. Our citizens, as well as foreigners visiting our country should always feel safe and secure in our country. Overcoming all difficulties, you continue to fulfill your duty before the state and the people with honor and on a high professional level, and I thank you for that. I have no doubt that you will continue to successfully address issues related to intelligence, counterintelligence, maintenance of constitutional order, fight against terrorism, protection of the state border and other tasks assigned to the national security bodies.
