Address by President Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of National Security Workers’ Day

Dear workers of Armenia’s national security bodies,

I cordially congratulate you and all the veterans on the occasion of the professional holiday.

In the recent history of the development of security bodies, even under the circumstances of radical transformations of social relations, you have always demonstrated a high sense of responsibility in ensuring the country’s peaceful and secure development and have been and remain to be boundlessly devoted to your state and motherland.

Today, in every corner of the world security issues are of unprecedented concern. Under the circumstances of the development of modern technologies, outburst of conflicts in various places of the world, economic ups and downs, continuous improvement of the methods of intelligence-subversive activities and of regional security threats, you have managed to creditably discharge your duties by overcoming all hardships and properly maintaining the security of our state and society.

I am confident that under the present complex conditions, you will continue in the same vein as you deal with issues pertaining to intelligence and counterintelligence, constitutional order, the protection of the state borders, the fight against terrorism, as well as to other issues prescribed by law, continuously improving your competence.

It will be the main guarantee of adequately responding to the security challenges threatening the humdrum existence of our people.

Of course, the state will simultaneously continue to take steps aimed at saturating national security bodies with material and technical resources and increasing social security benefits of employees.

I congratulate once again and wish you good health, well-being, further success and achievements to the glory of our motherland and for the benefit of its security.
