Address by President Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the formation of the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia

Dear officers of the RA Special Investigation Service,

I cordially congratulate you on the 7th anniversary of the formation of the service.

I am glad to note the consistent progress and development of the service and the positive results achieved in the fight against crime. I would like to lay special stress on the adherence to principles, moderation and impartiality the service has demonstrated in carrying out effective anticorruption activities, coming up with initiatives for improving legislation, as well as in other areas pertaining to its routine activities.

Throughout its seven-year-old activities, the Special Investigation Service has been able to gain a firm footing and play a special and important role in the system of RA law-enforcement bodies.

The service has generally managed to deal with its tasks and create staff of investigating officers capable of successfully responding to contemporary challenges and conducting effective investigation into the criminal cases that fall under the authority of the service.

It is necessary to continue your everyday work aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of the fight against corruption and crime and protection of human rights.

I am confident that you will be able to discharge the functions prescribed by law creditably through your persistence, diligence, experience, high professional knowledge and by using new approaches for the organization of work.

I once again congratulate you on the day of the formation of the service and wish you and your families health and happiness, and I wish you further success in your responsible work.
