Congratulatory address by RA President Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of Local Self-Government Day

I cordially congratulate all representatives of local self-government bodies (LSB) on the occasion of the professional holiday.

Throughout the last 18 years, Armenia’s local self-government system has not only managed to form and succeed, but also continues to build its history successfully.

LSBs are one of the vital components of the state’s system of government. The evidence shows that strong communities make the democratic state stronger, and the country’s stability also rests on communities’ development level and coherence.

Being one of the crucial institutes of the state, local self-governance gives citizens a real opportunity to realize their rights, ensure their involvement in finding solutions to fundamental issues and promote self-organization and proactiveness.

Congratulating all LSB representatives once again on the holiday, I wish them success and persistence in their honorable and responsible work.
