President sends congratulatory message to His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians

President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message to His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, on the occasion of his 15th enthronement anniversary. The message particularly reads:

Your Holiness,

I congratulate you on the occasion of your 15th enthronement anniversary.

In the person of you, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church enthroned its new Catholicos and the patriarch of the pious people of Armenia and the Diaspora in 1999.

You have wisely and fruitfully headed your spiritual flock for one and a half decades now, preaching peace and humanity and sowing the seeds of kindness and beauty in the hearts and souls of our people.

Deeply respecting all individuals’ and communities’ right to freedom of conscience, we stress the special mission of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church in the formation and preservation of Armenian national identity and the development of Armenian culture. It is a reality and truth that has been proved for many centuries, centuries which include periods of great difficulty.

I once again congratulate you on your jubilee and wish you good health and inexhaustible vigor to hold firmly to the divine throne of Gregory the Illuminator and continue your noble mission,” reads the congratulatory message of the RA President.
