President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message on Diplomat’s Day

“Distinguished Diplomats,

I congratulate you on the occasion of RA Diplomat’s Day.

This is a historic day for the Armenian nation since the Republic of Armenia after regaining its independence 21 years ago joined the United Nations, thus becoming a full member of the international community and fulfilling the long-cherished desire of the successive generations of our people to have independent Motherland.

Today, the Republic of Armenia conducts the foreign policy which is based on the full comprehension of the interests of our nation and is aimed at conquering the geopolitical challenges facing our country. For the world, Armenia has become a reliable and predictable partner.

In the resolution of the vital issues facing the Armenian nation, the role of our diplomats is considerable and significant indeed. Therefore, it is quite natural that our expectations and demands set for our diplomats are also great. Patriotism and dedication, professionalism and skills, decency and purposefulness – these are qualities that every diplomat should possess.

I once again congratulate you and wish efficient work for the benefit of our country’s strengthened standing and reputation on the international arena, an improved international environment for our Motherland’s advancement, and implementation of the goals which stem from our nation’s interests.”
