President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory address on the occasion of the 85th birthday of Charles Aznavour.
The message states:
“Dear Charles,
I cordially congratulate you on your 85th anniversary.
I am happy that we’ve celebrated this glorious jubilee together, in the land of your ancestors. This was a splendid occasion for the people of Armenia to once again enjoy your presence.
You have been praised and venerated for decades, your exceptional creations are being applauded with admiration. It is difficult to say something new or find new praise. It is evident that your music, songs and your entire artistic deportment are loved and cherished in different parts of the world.
We are honored that assuming the position of the Armenian Ambassador, you put your clout to service for the foreign policy interests of our country. Your readiness to assist Armenia in every possible way and in very different areas is the very image that is appropriate for the most famous Armenian in the world.
Once again congratulating you on this anniversary, I wish you good health and inexhaustible exuberance, exuberance which throughout your entire life has been serving the good, the beautiful and your two motherlands – Armenia and France".
