President Vahagn Khachaturyan sent a telegram of condolences on the death of Dikran Izmirlian

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan sent a telegram of condolences on the death of Swiss-Armenian philanthropist, National hero of Armenia Dikran Izmirlian.

The telegram reads:

"I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dikran Izmirlian, National hero of Armenia, the worthy son of the Armenian people and philanthropist.

Numerous initiatives and charitable programs implemented in Armenia by Mr. Izmirlian and the Izmirlian Foundation play a special role in the development of education, healthcare, economy and many other spheres in our country.

The activity of the great philanthropist was an unequivocal manifestation of love for the Republic of Armenia, for which he deservedly earned the title of National hero of our state, as well as received many high state awards and, of course, the gratitude and respect of our people. The memory of Dikran Izmirlian will always live in the heart of the Armenian people.

During this difficult time, I express my condolences to the Izmirlian family, relatives and colleagues of Dikran Izmirlian, wishing them patience and strength."
